Imagine a house that is not only beautiful, connects with nature and is quick to build.  Too good to be true right…not exactly!  The Architecture firm, Wedlick’s, didn’t want to use solar panels, geothermal or wind power to generate energy that would be highly efficient.  Instead they had a passive 1,650 sq. ft. home in mind.  They were to achieve this by keeping all interior materials from being exposed to the outdoors, inserting 12 inches of insulation beneath the foundation slab and insulating the interior walls and ceiling well.  The more airtight you keep a building the more efficient it is throughout its lifetime.  Simple right…right it’s so simple you don’t need an iPad to keep track of every little efficient item in the home.  The house is forecasted to use 90% less energy heating and cooling than most conventional homes.  What a beautiful idea as well as a beautiful home!
