Leslie Hassler, Interior Designer and President

Luxury is defined as “something that is considered an indulgence rather than a necessity”. But luxuries also make life easier. With so many non-functional homes and spaces in existence, having an abode that truly works for you is one of life’s biggest luxuries. Leslie Hassler, President of Luxury for the Home, knows first-hand how to make your space as functional as it is beautiful.
Spending her childhood watching episodes of This Old House impressed upon Leslie the importance of architecture, craftsmanship, and attention to detail. She knows each is paramount to designing an efficient, organized, and hard-working house. As Leslie traveled and studied abroad, a common theme surfaced, her love of architectural details and finishes and a desire to create spaces that can stand the test of time like the most classic architecture and interiors of Europe.
Leslie’s signature style combines classical details, color and pattern with a modern edge. But Leslie knows it doesn’t matter how beautiful a home is, if it doesn’t work – it’s a hassle. Luxury for the Home brings you “Beauty without the Hassle”. And it’s Leslie’s “Beauty without the Hassle” result that has garnered acclaim for her interiors in the Luxury Home Quarterly, Houston Chronicle and Texas Home and Living.
With Leslie’s scientific approach to design, she is most concerned with the mechanics of a space and spends time de-constructing how you live, work, and play in your home. She then takes a step-by-step approach of putting it all back together so it is customized to your needs and desires.
Leslie’s solutions-based system for designing and executing her vision for your project makes working with Luxury for the Home seamless and stress-free. It is this structured and organized approach that makes Leslie a favorite of engineers, financial planners, doctors and lawyers; as well as contractors, architects, and other industry professionals who choose Luxury for the Home time and again for their projects.
But it’s not just the end result that’s important to Leslie, it’s also the journey. Leslie puts equal emphasis on the design process. She brings together her degree in Interior Design and a Journalism degree from the prestigious Texas A & M University as well as her experience working in marketing and advertising; to help make the design experience with Luxury for the Home both efficient, visually compelling and even fun.
Passing the NCIDQ exam, Leslie’s eye is always toward creating interiors that are mindful of codes and safety. Leslie’s memberships in professional organizations including American Society of Interior Design (ASID), the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA), the Best Practices Network (BPN), and the Greater Houston Builder’s Association (GHBA) keep her on the cutting edge of design products and procedures.
So for your next design project, let the Luxury for the Home team make your space beautifully functional. Then you can relax and concentrate on enjoying life. It will be the best luxury money can buy.
Lauren Ballas, Designer
My passion for design started at the age of 9 when I drafted my first set of elevations of the house my father was building for us. It continued with AutoCAD classes in High School and a 4 year Bachelor of Arts Degree in Interior Design from the CIDA Accredited College of Liberal Arts at Purdue University.
One of my most passionate yet challenging classes during my senior was all about sustainability. At the end of the semester class I took the test to become a LEED AP, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design – Accredited Professional, and passed. I strive to design spaces that not only prove productive, functional and aesthetic, but also healthy for those who occupy the space and their surrounding environment.
My inspirations come from a variety of places; nature, travel and fashion. Last year, my husband and I lived in Sweden for 7 months. We didn’t hesitate at the opportunity to travel around Europe every couple of weeks. I adored learning all about the architecture, culture, art and design from the 15 different countries and 30 different cities we visited!
In the past I have enjoyed volunteering for the Greenbuild International Expo’s and Habitat for Humanity. Didiayer Snyder from the Extreme Makeover Home Edition Show came to Purdue University to work with Habitat for Humanity and a few design students to remodel a farmhouse kitchen. It was an experience of a lifetime!
